Tehran, IRNA – China has called for an immediate halt to the US-Israel military aggression against Iran and urged all parties to return to dialogue as tensions in the West Asia region continue to escalate.
In a statement released Monday, China’s Foreign Ministry stressed the need to contain the crisis and prevent wider consequences for the global economy.
According to the ministry, Beijing has called on all sides to immediately stop military operations in the region and resume negotiations.
The statement also warned that continued instability could spill over into the global economy, particularly affecting energy markets.
China cautioned that if the conflict continues to expand, the region could be drawn into a vicious cycle of violence driven by the continued use of force.
Addressing energy security concerns, Beijing said it has remained in contact with all relevant parties to ensure the safe passage of oil shipments destined for China.
The remarks come as tensions in the region have risen following military attacks by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran.
The joint military assault began on February 28, while indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington were underway with the mediation of regional countries.
Iran has responded with targeted missile and drone strikes against Israeli military and security positions in various locations in the occupied territories, as well as against bases hosting US forces across the region.
Iranian officials say the operations were carried out under the country’s right to self‑defense in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter and warned that any further escalation would be met with a stronger response.
